Pathways to Success TOPS = TUITION OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS Diploma Tracks Students can choose from 2 tracks to a diploma- Tops University and Tops Tech Career No matter which path you choose you will be able to enter the workforce, a 2 year college or a 4 year university. TOPS Tech Career 2 Year College Industry Based Certification Required 9 Career Technical Electives 2 Social Studies and 2 Science 23 Credits TOPS Tech Career 4 English and 4 Math TOPS University 4 Year College 4 Social Studies and 4 Science 24 Credits Industry Based Certification Optional Diploma Focus On Career Pathways Industry Based Certifications Both Options What is the difference between the 2 diplomas? A student can ultimately attend a 4 year university by following both diplomas, but their process to get there will be different. Students choosing the Tops University diploma should be motivated/hardworking and strong students in all four of the core subject areas. These students must complete Alg. II, Precalculus, Chemistry, Foreign Language. Tops Tech students must declare a mini major called a pathway and earn IBCs.

4 credits of English 4 credits of Math 4 credits of Science 4 credits of Social Studies (1 and 1/2 credits of P.E. + 1/2 credit of Health) OR (2 credits of ROTC I & II) 1 credit Fine Arts 2 credits in Foreign Language (must be in same language) + 3 credits of Electives 24 credits total needed to graduate Eng 3, Eng 4 Alg II, Precalc/Alg III Chemistry, Physical Science Wld Geo, Wld History Band, Choir, Art, Fn Art, Guitar, Piano, Drafting French or Spanish

4 credits of English 4 credits of Math 2 credits of Science 2 credits of Social Studies (1 and ½ credits of P.E. + ½ credit Health) OR (2 credits of ROTC I & II) 14 Credits of Core Classes & PE/Health +9 Credits concentrated in Career Pathway with REQUIRED IB CERTIFICATION Business Eng, Technical Writing Financial Literacy, Business math No Chemistry Government and US History only 9 Career Pathway Electives 1-3 IBCs depending on Pathway 23 Total Credits needed to graduate

Industry-Based Certifications
Industry Based Certifications (IBC) get students a head start to job opportunities post high school. Types of IBC Opportunities: Meat Processing, NCCER Core, Carpentry & Welding Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Adobe Certified Assoc First Aide, CPR, AED Certified Nursing Assistant, EMR & EMT ProStart/Restaurant Association, ServSafe FEMA/ NIMS (National Incident Management System) OSHA 10 (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Customer Service and Sales; MicroEnterprise Freshmen can take Nutrition and Food, Meat Processing, IBCA, BCA, (Microsoft word, pp, excel) Health Ed (first aid, cpr, aed)
