“ECU works to further and support equality and diversity for staff and students in higher and further education” Funded by SFC; working with colleges since 2011.

About ECU’s mainstreaming programme
Mainstreaming is integral to meeting the Scottish specific duties of the Equality Act 2010 Bespoke programme assists colleges to: Review and align sets of equality outcomes Coordinate and refine action plans Mainstream the delivery of outcomes across campuses Measure and report on progress by the 2015 deadline Working with Kath Bridger, BSV Associates

Common themes Aligning mainstreaming and delivery of equality outcomes at strategic level Mainstreaming equality in the curriculum / quality processes Staff development to create engagement and consistent values and practices Engaging with the student perspective / capturing the voice For all 3 Glasgow region colleges- Future commitment to developing a Glasgow region approach to mainstreaming equality.

The regional perspective
Review of alignment and delivery of regional outcomes Measuring and reporting on progress as a region, reflecting local differences whilst presenting a regional view. Joining forces to maximise impact and efficiency Mostly Lanarkshire Federation The previous four colleges developed a joint set of equality outcomes for the federation during ECU’s second mainstreaming programme. at the moment
