2 Keeping The Eyes On The Prize
Philippians 3:13-16

3 The High Calling A call to go home (Phil. 3:20-21)
An incomparable habitation It will be much DIFFERENT than we expect It will be much BETTER than we expect A reward for the faithful (Heb. 11:6) Being with Christ (Jn. 14:3) Being like Christ (1 Jn. 3:2) Beholding the face of God (Rev. 22:3-5)

4 Pressing Toward The Goal
What does “press” mean? It does not mean half-hearted or lackadaisical It does mean “to keep going and keep doing” (Gal. 6:9) Determination - - decisiveness, commitment Diligence - - hard work Perseverance - - never giving up

5 “But Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end” (Heb. 3:6) “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith {hope} without wavering, (for He is faithful who promised)” (Heb. 10:23)

6 Do We Have What It Takes? It IS a character issue
Some do not have it (Mk. 4:15-20) No interest, hardness of heart No Root Choked with worldly cares Some do have it (Rom. 2:7)

7 “Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing” (Phil. 3:16) Same rules for everyone Same obedience required of everyone “God is no respecter of persons”

8 A challenge to EVER press onward
“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:13) We won’t get to heaven without self-discipline We cannot answer the high calling with low living “Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward” (2 Jn. 8)
