5. Handbook changes Main change – quitting a sport
We had 36 kids quit a sport last year
Meeting with athlete, parent, coach and next coach before allowed to participate in another sport
It is working – This fall we only had 4 kids quit

6. tardies This has become a major problem Mainly at the HS
Help in this area would be greatly appreciated

7. eligibility Weekly Eligibility
Eligibility check - 8:00 AM on Monday morning
Must have at least a 60%
One probation week per semester
If at any time during the semester a student is on the list after their probation week, they will be ineligible

8. attendance Game Days Must be in school to practice
You need to be in school all day, unless you have administration approval
Must be in school to practice
You need to be in school by noon
Must be in school the following day
This has been a problem
Get out of bed and get to school

9. Drugs / alcohol 1st Violation 2nd Violation 3rd Violation
Student will lose 10% of that season’s scheduled games
2nd Violation
Student will not be allowed to participate for the rest of that sport’s season
3rd Violation
Student will not be allowed to participate in any sports the rest of the school year

10. 24 hour rule
If you have an issue with a coach or program we ask that you wait 24 hours to address it
Immediately following a game is the worst possible time

11. 4 step communication process
Step 1  Student meets with head coach
Step 2  Student and parent meet with head coach
Step 3  Student, parent and coach meet with the athletic director
Step 4  Student, parent, coach and athletic director meet with the principal

12. pictures MS pictures November 13th @ 3:45 PM in Commons Area
HS pictures November 3:45 PM in Commons Area
Pictures will be delivered by November 30th
Picture packets will be handout out and can also be accessed online

13. Physicals You must have a physical before you can participate
Get form turned into office ASAP
Physical forms are on KSHSAA website and in HS / MS offices
If your physical is not turned in by Friday, you will not practice on Monday
