Why Consolidate? LOCAL CONTROL & FLEXIBILITY
4
Flexibility: Once state, local and federal funds are consolidated, the federal funds lose their identity as federal funds, and expenditures of those funds are no longer limited to the federal requirements for the individual programs.
5
Principals make spending decisions based on identified student needs at their school
6
Principals can change decisions as needs change or new data becomes available
7
No longer have to figure out which budget can pay - everything is paid from one CONSOLIDATED budget
8
Individual districts decide:
Which program(s) to consolidate How much money to consolidate Internal procedures & monitoring
9
You Don’t Have to be a Charter System, to Consolidate but…
The Charter System Foundation, Inc. was founded on the belief that meaningful change in education can occur only if principals, teachers, parents, and community partners are empowered with the authority and flexibility to make decisions at the school house level to best meet the individual needs of each student.
