F = m x a Force = Mass x Acceleration N = kg x m/s2

3 What does this mean? If acceleration is constant (like when an object is falling) then a heavier object will have greater force than a lighter object.

4 In your journal, use Newton’s 2nd law and the results of your experiment to explain the Barringer Crater.

5 What does this mean? If force is constant, (like pushing a shopping cart) then a heavier object will accelerate less than a lighter object.

6 Compare these accelerations!

7 Let’s bowl! Design an experiment to give us evidence for one of these claims!
Claim 1: If acceleration is constant (like when an object is falling) then a heavier object will have greater force when colliding than a lighter object. Claim 2: If force is constant, (like a push on a shopping cart) then a heavier object will accelerate less than a lighter object. Claim 3: If mass is constant, greater acceleration will result in greater force of impact.
