4 What is Ecology? Eco = house ology = the study of Ecology - the study of the interactions that organisms have with each other and their environment.

6 Abiotic All the non-living parts of an environment (physical factors)

7 Interdependence No organism is isolated.
All organisms are interconnected. Non-living things affect living things

8 Habitat Habitat - Place where an organism or community of organisms live, including all biotic and abiotic factors or conditions

9 Niche Niche is the role a species plays in a community. It includes how a species uses and affects its environment.
