TPP DR-405 Online Filing Tangible Personal Property Tax Returns are not mailed. Business owners and Tax Preparers should file electronically on-line. A letter will be mailed with a unique 14 digit CONFIDENTIAL WEB-ACCESS Code. If you filed on-line in a prior year, your CONFIDENTIAL WEB-ACCESS Code remains the same. Business owners must enter this code to access and update their business assets and contact information or provide the CONFIDENTIAL WEB-ACCESS Code to their Tax Preparer. The On-Line website is also available to export your prior year’s asset list to an Excel spreadsheet, which can be edited and imported back to us On-Line.

How Do I File Online? Visit our website at www.hernandocounty.us/pa
Click on Tangible Property under the Property Classifications section Read the step-by-step On-Line filing instructions to understand the requirements and process, including when to enter the following codes: Your Password (created by you) for logging into your Web Account; Your Web Account Validation Code ( ed to you) used to create your Web Account; Your Confidential Web Access Code (mailed to you in January) used to gain access to your business information and DR-405 submission. Click TPP On-line Check the box and click on

First time filing on-line, you must create a web account.
Click If you filed On-Line last year, you have an existing web account, sign in: Enter your address Enter your Password Click Note: If the address entered is different than last year’s, you must first create a web account.

Complete all fields and click on the Create button

You will receive an email containing your Web Account Validation Code
You will receive an containing your Web Account Validation Code. Validation of this account will be used as your digital signature.

Click on the link provided in the or copy and paste your Validation Code (not your Web-Access Code) from the into the Validation Code field and click on the “Validate” button ***Do not enter your unique CONFIDENTIAL WEB-ACCESS CODE provided in the letter. It will not work***

Click on “Search for Existing Business”.

To search for a business, search by the name or a portion of the business name.

Enter the CONFIDENTIAL WEB-ACCESS Code from the letter you received
Click on Confirm to access the business account detail

Click on the Alt-Key button for the business listed to view the business account and asset summary

To update the business information, contact information or close the business, click on the Business Account Summary Edit button

Be sure to enter the correct physical location of the business in the Business Information section.
Enter the contact information and correct mailing address in the Contact Information section. Click on the Submit Changes button at the bottom

Click on the edit button to view and update all the business assets in each Summary Line. (You also have the option to request your business asset list in an Excel format to update, save and upload back into our system or request a filing extension if you cannot file your return before the April filing deadline. ) Your DR-405 will become “LATE” after D/D/YYYY. The last day to request an extension is D/D/YYYY. Note: If the asset is leased or rented, you must use Summary Code 22

Select the business asset by clicking on the Edit button next to each asset or click on the Add New Asset button at the bottom to add a new asset. Edit existing asset or Add new Note: Do not count the current year when calculating the age of each asset.

After editing each asset, click on Save Asset
After editing each asset, click on Save Asset. If an asset was removed, click on Remove Asset. If an asset is leased, click on yes.

Leased assets must be entered in Summary Code 22 – Equipment Owned but Rented Out. You must enter a Hernando County address for every leased asset. The address entered will determine the correct Taxing District and Levy Code. Note: You are no longer required to break out assets by Key Number.

If you are leasing an asset from another company, enter the lease company’s name and address at the bottom of the asset detail.

If not leased, to add a new asset simply click on Add New Asset

Your DR-405 will become “LATE” after D/D/YYYY.
When the DR-405 is ready to be filed, review the Asset Summary before clicking on the Submit DR405 button. Your DR-405 will become “LATE” after D/D/YYYY. The last day to request an extension is D/D/YYYY.

Add special notes to advise us of any changes
Add special notes to advise us of any changes. Once you have reviewed your DR-405 asset detail and there are no additional changes, you are ready to file the return with our office. Click on the Submit DR-405 button.

A .pdf of the submitted DR-405 will display on your screen to save and print.

If you wish to use the Excel spreadsheet option, click on Request Excel file.
If you have already received an extension approval, your DR-405 will become “LATE” after D/D/YYYY

The Excel file will be ed to you as an attachment. If no online edits have been made, you will receive last year’s asset list.

To upload the Excel file to the online filing website, sign in, then select the business. Click Upload Excel File. Browse to the file on your local computer and click on Submit Asset File. (Add special notes to advise us of any changes.)

No need to provide our office with a paper copy. The data is uploaded into our CAMA system almost instantly. Once submitted, assets cannot be edited again until January 1 of the following Tax Year. Your DR-405 was filed on D/D/YYYY.

To request an extension, click on the button at the bottom of the screen.

You will need to provide a reason and click on the Submit Extension request button. An will be sent to our office with your request.
