English Course Options
10th Grade – Class of 2020 English Course Options English 10 or Honors English 10 Motivated students, who want to be challenged and were successful in English 9. Students with a grade lower than a B, speak with your current English teacher about best fit. Reading and Writing outside of class is required. (Summer Reading Required)

These may be taken along with either English 10 or Honors English 10 0.5 Credit English Options open to 10th Grade Students Journalism (application required) (*eligible for 0.5 Senior English credit) Debate (*eligible for 0.5 Senior English credit) Intro to Lit thru Film Intro to Creative Writing Intro to Graphic Novels Intro to Literature Through Music

9th 10th 11th 12th Debate (eligible for 0.5 Senior English credit) * Intro to Creative Writing Creative Writing Introduction to Graphic Novels Graphic Novels Sports Literature Dramatic Literature and Composition Playwriting Intro to Literature Through Film Literature Through Film Journalism (Application required - eligible for 0.5 Senior English credit) Career Planning Technical English Drama III (Only available if passed Drama 1&2) Intro to Literature Through Music

Math Course Progression
9th Grade 10th Grade 11th Grade 12th Grade Recommended for students planning on attending: 4 year college, community college, or tech school Geometry 202 Algebra Adv. Algebra 302 Pre-Calculus AP Statistics AP Calculus Bridges to College Algebra Fulfills High School and State requirements Algebra in Manufacturing (AMPED) Geometry 201 or 202 Geometry in Construction Math 250 Financial Algebra Accounting I *None required if state requirements are met. Minimum of 3-years math required for graduation **Math Course Placement for registration is based on recommendation from your current Math teacher. Please let them know if you want to progress more quickly**

Science Course Options
10th Grade (Class of 2021) Science Course Options Science Graduation Requirements 3.0 credits of laboratory science 9th grade - Biology or Agricultural Biology (1 credit) 10th or 11th grade - Physics or AP Physics I (1 credit) 10th or 11th grade - Chemistry or Preparatory Chemistry (CHS) (1 credit) *Both Physics and Chemistry are required for graduation, but may be taken in either order.* Some 4-year colleges and universities recommend or require 4 years of science

9th Grade 10th Grade 11th Grade 12th Grade Fulfills High School & State requirements Biology or Agricultural Biology Physics or Chemistry Science Electives* *None required- if State Requirements are met Accelerated Science Pathway (suitable for four-year college or university) Biology Physics or AP Physics AND Chemistry or Preparatory Chemistry (CHS – Chem 100) *Students would take 2 science courses concurrently* AP Chemistry OR Chemical Concepts and Lab (CHS – Chem 110) AP Biology Starting with the class of 2021, all students will be required to pass the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) to graduate

10th Grade Social Studies Course Options World History (semester-long; .50 credit) -OR- AP Human Geography (year-long; 0.5 credit World History and 0.5 credit SS Elective) Social Studies Elective (semester-long; .50 credit) 1. Psychology (10th-12th) 2. History through Pop Culture (10th – 12th) 3. Child Psychology (9th – 12th) 4. Economics (10th – 12th) 5. Art History (10th – 12th) 6. The American Revolution (9th-12th) *The Social Studies Elective requirement must be met before the end of your Senior year*
