Closing Remarks Membership – Have to ask (Region Chair – Pat Murdoch)
Public Awareness – Use new forms of communication (Region Chair – Linda Tremelling) Fundraising – Club giving - SIA sends RMR at least $11,000 each year (Region Chair – Dee Perry) Programs - Dream Programs (Region Chair – Kathy Jones) LYD & DIBI (Region Chair – LYD, Ann Marion; DIBI, Carol Felici) NEW BIG GOAL – Make the Dreams of education for 500,000 Women & Girls come true! Membership: We have spent a lot of time at our Fall Meeting talking about Membership! Membership is a very important element of our success in Soroptimist. We have talked about how to recruit members…..I hope each of you have some new ideas about building your Clubs as you leave here today. More members help bring in more $ to our local clubs which helps us support more Single Moms and girls. Once we get new members we need to be adaptable for younger members and have civility in our Clubs to keep our members motivated. Make sure you have at least one New Member drive by January this year. Public Awareness is an important part of recruiting…if you have members in your community that see what Soroptimists are doing, this will help them be interested in joining and helping us with our programs. If you are doing a Dream It Be IT, and have presenters come, be sure to ask them to join! We have learned new ways to connect with members and non-members and even others that just like our programs with the social media we heard about this weekend. Build your social media community. Let them volunteer and you might have them hooked. Fundraising: The new members you invite and the social media community you need to build, can help with your fundraising. We use these funds directly in our Clubs to give awards and we also need to pay our 10% of NET profits to Club Giving. Look at how far that 10% goes! SIA gives our Region every year $11,000 for our Region LYD Award Winners. ($5000 for 1st place, and 2 $3000 awards for 2nd and 3rd Place. Almost every year SIA also gives one of the Clubs in our region a grant that the Club applied for. This past year SLC received a grant of $3500 to get their mentoring program up and going supporting their DIBI program. Programs: The Dream Programs are what all our Clubs should be focused on. The collective impact our organization can make by all of us promoting, developing, and increasing our Dream Programs. Remember to have a strong Brand, the Clubs, stores, or products always have to be the same, so people know what to expect. Many of our Clubs have been able to see the vision and move to these programs as their main projects. Each Club should be looking at how they can increase the number of LYD Awards they give, even by just one additional award. Also review in your Club if you can give more money to the number of winners you are currently supporting. Our Big Goal is to increase the impact we have on 60,000 Women and 440,000 girls by the year Our DREAM PROGRAMS will do that. If your Club is struggling to grow their Dream Programs, please contact me and see if we can brainstorm a way to help you do that! I’m proud of our region and our desire to help Women and girls in the communities where we meet. We make an impact which helps others to remember our name as we leave this Community. We hope our efforts today helps SI Sublette County to attract new members and gets the Soroptimist name a little better known. 10/13/2018 District I/II Fall Meeting 2018

“If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough.”
Closing Remarks Dream!!! “If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough.” Soroptimist Opportunities: March 8th 2019 – International Women’s Day April 26-28, 2019 – Region Conference, Salt Lake City, Utah July 18-21, 2019 – 21st SI Quadrennial Convention – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia July 23-25, 2020 – SIA Convention, Bellevue, Washington October 1-3, 2021 – 100th Year Celebration, San Francisco, California DREAM!! “If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough.” As my Theme for this biennium “DREAM”, I hope we can all work toward our Dreams, help others to work toward their DREAMS, also. Remember “If your deams don’t scare you, they are not big enough.” Take that thought back to your Clubs as you plan how you can increase your LYD number of awardees and amount you are paying them. Remember “The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts.” When we quit dreaming of the world we could live in -- to have all women equal and living to their full potential, then we are not living, we are only existing. Let’s keep working on these dreams for us and other women and girls. Review Soroptimist Opportunities: I appreciate each of you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to attend this meeting. I hope you have new ideas and tools to take back to your Club to help them move in the direction of our Programs and continue to build membership. Membership is a gift to give ourselves and our friends and family. Please take time when you go back to your Clubs to share the information you have learned here today with other members and hopefully we can have more attend for Spring Conference in Salt Lake City, and next fall at our District Meetings. Thank you again to all those who helped plan this Fall Meeting, especially SI Sublette County. I have had a great time and I hope each of you have also, making new friends, sharing ideas, and spending time with old friends. It is especially great for me to spend time with other women of like minds that want to help other women who may not have a mentor or friend there for them. We can do this through our programs. Please all of you have a safe trip home. Region Secretary Ronda, will you please come forward and do our recognition? 10/13/2018 District I/II Fall Meeting 2018
