Formal language learning focuses on the reading and writing element and hence language learners often struggle to develop confidence in actually speaking the language. VoicEd focuses on teaching languages by developing conversational confidence in a fun and safe space.

Concept Video
Video description = Haotian running along a beautiful green. Chloe getting up and accidentally crashing into Haotian. Chloe gathered her books and looked up with wind blowing her hair. Haotian gaze dramatically into the distance. Chloe gets up with Haotian helping her. They wave hello and say hello in their different languages (Ciao, Ni Hao). Chloe cringe and both looked confused. They wave and walked away sadly. Each of them is thinking “Ah they cute, but I can’t speak their language.” Then they have a moment of realization “Ah I can use VoicEd to learn a new language.” Chloe walks into a cafe, tapping at her phone. She sits at a table and tap open VoiceEd. VoicEd (played by our wonderful Lilly) pops up with options for languages to learn. Chloe presses Chinese. VoicEd holds up flashcards and say them out loud. When Chloe gets one right, VoicEd holds up the smiley face. When Chloe gets one wrong, VoicEd holds up a frowning face. Meanwhile Haotian sitting outside opens the VoicEd on his phone, VoicEd pops up with the same language options. Haotian presses Italian. VoicEd holds up a calendar of October, (the screen says “Scheduling calls with VoicEd”). Haotian presses “Call me” stickers to the days he wants to be called on. Later, in the Gym, Haotian gets a call from VoicEd. They talk and go over some flashcards. Much much later, Chloe is walking along and sees Haotian sitting on a bench. She runs over to him and says Ni Hao. Haotian answers Ciao! Behind the scene and props are thanks to Ayushi’s hard work!
