4 Classroom Rules: Be Polite & Respectful Follow Directions

5 Classroom Baseball Each Time A Rule Is Broken, the Student Will Earn a Strike. If the Student Earns 3 Strikes, the Appropriate Consequence Will Be Issued.

6 Consequences For 1st Time: Verbal Warning/Parents Called
2nd Time: Detention the Next Day/Parents Called 3rd Time: Referral to the Principal/Parents Called 4th Time: Parent/Teacher Conference Severe Disruption: Student Sent Immediately To Office.

7 Consequences for Following Class Rules:
Weekly: (1 Strike Max) Minutes of Class Free-Time on Friday 6 Weeks: (6 Strikes or Less) Class Free-Period the Last Friday

8 Classroom Procedures After Entering the Classroom, Students Will Begin Focus Activity Immediately. Students Will Raise Their Hands & Wait Quietly For Permission To Speak or Leave Their Seat.

9 Classroom Procedures Students Will Request Permission To Use The Restroom in Emergencies Only. Students Will Remain Seated At The End of Class Until Dismissed By The Teacher.

11 Grading Policy Major Assignments: 60% Minor Assignments: 40%
Tests, Projects, Study Island, Essays Minor Assignments: 40% Classwork, Homework, Quizzes

12 Absences Excused Absences: Student must make up work missed.
1 Day for 1 Day Absent (Maximum of 5 Days) Work not turned in will be counted as a 0 Unexcused Absences: No make up work will be accepted. Missed assignments will be counted as a 0.

13 Regular Class Assignments
Students in Regular Classes will have up to 3 additional school days to redo a failing major assignment, but the grade will be no higher than a 70. You will have 3 additional days to make up a major assignment if late (with a grade penalty of 10 points per day).

14 Pre-AP Assignments Pre-AP students will not be allowed to turn in Late Minor Assignments. You will have up to 2 additional school days to turn in Late Major Assignments (Grade penalty of 15 points per day). You will not be allowed to ReTest, or Redo Major Assignments.

15 Semester Tests Semester tests will be comprehensive and count as 20% of the semester grade. If this test causes a student in a Regular Class to fail the semester, the student may retest within 3 days. The retest is the responsibility of the student. The retest grade will be no higher than a 70.

17 STAAR Test On Thursday, May 16th, 2019, you will be taking the STAAR Test for Social Studies. This class will help prepare you to be successful on that test.
