Feel your throat when you talk.

The medium can be a solid liquid or a gas.
In a vacuum or space, sound cannot travel.

Frequency is vibrations per second.
Human voice, 100 –1000 Vibration per second.

6. Sound Waves Cont’d Pitch describes how high or low the sound is.
High frequency – high pitch
Low frequency – low pitch

7. Doppler Effect The change in frequency from a moving object.
When an object moves toward you it has a higher frequency.
When it moves away, it has a lower frequency.

12. Speed of Sound The speed of sound is 340 m/s
The denser the medium the faster the sound wave will travel.
Sound travels fastest in solids and slowest in gases.
Temperature also mildly affects the speed of sound. How?
