5
The vanishing points are determined by where the vanishing lines pass through the eye level lines.

Parallel lines are drawn from the edge of the plan until they meet the picture plane and then projected vertically to establish the height lines HL Parallel Lines Parallel Lines

The kitchen height is projected across in readiness for establishing the perspective ‘limits’ of the kitchen Kitchen Height

projection lines shown in green pass through the
The perspective ‘limits’ of the kitchen are established by projecting lines from the vanishing points through A,B,C and D. B A D C Note that some of the projection lines shown in green pass through the plan area. On your drawing keep these very light. Remember points C and D have ZERO height.
9
Lines are projected through points E and F untill the meet the picture plane then projected vertically to form the wall edges of the kitchen Wall Edge Wall Edge E F
10
Lines are projected from each of the vanishing points to points G, H, I and J to establish the inside walls. G H J I K Notice the projection line at K confirms the inside corner of the room where the two walls meet.
11
The profile outline of the two inside wall are shown in black for clarity.
12
The line for the height of the base units is projected across until it meets the height lines at L and M. Lines are projected from each of the vanishing points through L and M to points O and P. L Base Unit Height M P O The base unit height lines can now be established on the inner walls by projecting from points O and P to their opposite vanishing points.
13
Lines are projected from the spectator point through points Q,, R and S until the meet the picture plane. R Q S
14
The lines projected from the plan to the picture plane are now projected vertically ready to establish the end of each set of base units
15
The ends of the base units are now established as shown at T and U.
16
The profile of the base units to date are now shown in black for clarity.
17
Lines are projected from the ends of the base units to the vanishing points to establish top and bottom of the units.
18
The top and bottom of the base are outlined in black for clarity.
19
The positions of the cupboards are marked on the plan at V and W ready for establishing their position above. Cupboard widths W V
20
Line are now projected from the spectator point through points V and W to meet the picture plane before being projected vertically to establish the cupboard positions. W V
21
The measured perspective view is now shown with all unwanted projection lines and hidden lines removed.
22
Add a door to your perspective drawing using the dimensions shown.
23
walls are given a thickness
Final solution showing the door in perspective. In problems where the walls are given a thickness always draw the inside wall first then add the outside wall last.
