Why Anomoly Maps? Note: The purpose of these slides for instructors is to: Have students raise their hands to say when what they are looking at is an anomaly map or not. Have students discuss the reasons for their answer, then decide together. Discuss your own interpretation of the map with the students and state whether it is an anomaly or not. Still Want More? Sometime just looking at maps doesn’t totally fix this idea in your mind. To make sure you get this key concept: Make sure you conceptually think about what differing maps does in EdGCM. We’ll also do a class activity with a dataset on temperature and precipitation that will help you to solidify this idea if you are still feeling confused.
