This is my 15th year with the district, the 9th year of teaching at Southeast!
I graduated from CMSU with my Bachelor and a Masters degree from Rockhurst University.
I have a wonderful husband and we are enjoying life with our spunky one year old daughter.

7. Words Their Way Practice weekly word sorts at home

Grade Level Assessment
Group Students Based on Phonemic Stage
Go to Different Classes based on Stage each day for 20 minutes (do lessons/ activities)
Unit Assessment (not weekly)
Students reassessed quarterly & moved accordingly

A word sort will be sent home on Mondays

8. Science and Social Studies
Science and Social Studies occur on a rotating basis
Both are taught in units defined by the Common Core Reporting Topics
Science inquiry and experiments allow students to actively engage in the topic
Unlike Reading, Writing, and Math: Science and Social Studies topics are taught and “closed”- their assessment period finishes each quarter

Parents are welcome to attend, however due to bus capacity: parents will need to carpool or drive themselves.
