Open Rocket General Design
Team Logo Open Rocket General Design The overall design of the rocket should be taken from the open rocket file. The CAD design of the rocket must be reflected in the Open rocket as a whole. The details of the size of a sub-system of the rocket such as Nose Cone, Electronic and Rescue Systems should be given. An example flight profile should include: Preparation of a table including Launch, Ramp, Burn Out, Apogee, Parachute Opening and Descent Speed, Altitude and Event Times. The visualization of the table will be evaluated as extra points. Display the table as a visualized flight profile and determine the estimated drop point for wind speed of 10 m/s. A time-dependent graph including speed, instantaneous acceleration, and altitude data, such as the sample chart specified in the next slide, must be created and added. Mechanical Appearance & Mass Budget
Team Logo Mechanical Appearance & Mass Budget General CAD design should be given. All parts of the rocket should be listed and their materials should be specified. Taking a general mass budget and placing it on the slide. The details of the size of a sub-system of the rocket such as Nose Cone, Electronic and Recovery Systems should be given. Material and mechanical properties should be mentioned. It should be which stated how the rocket will work in general. This section should consist of at least 4 slides and should include CAD designs of all subsystems. Team Logo Operation Concept (CONOPS) The operational profile of the flight profile should be specified at what stage of the flight. Instant data should be reported where the data will be stored. Launch Process Post-Launch Process and Recovery Transport of the rocket to the ramp, loading the motor and how to do the ignition should be specified. Strategies for the rescue team and the presence of the rocket should be specified. Team Logo Recovery System The decision should be explained comparatively. At least a different system should be indicated and its advantages and disadvantages should be indicated. The color of the system should be explained in detail. Team Logo Avionics A flight computer design should be provided to determine which sensors are to be received by the flight data of the rocket and to check the recovery systems. Adding control diagram will be evaluated as extra score. All necessary tests and subsystems of the flight computer must be explained in detail. The sensors to be used, their functions and the relationship with other sensors / processors must be given in the control diagram. This section should not exceed two slides. Structural – Body/Inside Body Structural Supports
Team Logo Body material and mechanical properties should be shared. (Internal mechanical structures should also be explained.) The original production body should be explained with details of the production method. The mechanical properties of the structural materials must be resistant to the specified acceleration in the specification. The tests to be performed in this respect should be specified and the strength properties of the materials should be indicated. This section should not exceed two slides.
