2. Examples of issues which were raised by Centres which delivered it last session.
The number of tasks and individual pieces of evidence which required to be uploaded to SOLAR. Not all software was compatible; issues with whatsapp messages and size of files.
Assessor experiencing problems accessing the portfolio until the work was submitted as a final piece of work by the learner, therefore any missing evidence had to be uploaded by the tutor (the learner could no longer gain access to their portfolio). It also made the assessment marking very “end loaded” and required remediation to be carried out in the second Semester.
Many of the tasks were aimed at learners working together and in minimum sized groups. Logistically this caused problems with learners being absent, staff “jumping” on a machine to join a group to allow the learners to continue with task in hand.

3. What benefits do the 2 new ASPs bring?
Both ASPs allow much more flexibility in assessing by each Centre.
Centres can decide themselves which platform they wish to use to collate the assessment evidence.
Lighter touch with the assessment tasks than the previous ASP but still covering all criteria required.
Part 1 of both ASPs are the practical tasks which are portfolio based.
Part 2 of both ASPs are subjective response questions, again each Centre has the flexibility to decide how they collate this information.
ASP001 is designed to be led by an activity chosen by learners.
ASP002 is based on a specific case study scenario.

4. How as a Centre are we delivering and assessing it this year?
Use of googledrive, padlet and one note for collaborative work. We have incorporated the software across various other units to give the learner more exposure to the software and encourage them to work together.
Lots of interactive quizzes to check learners knowledge and understanding – kahoot.
