STORYTELLING UNIT: DAY 4
Instructions: Correct the following sentence in the Bell Ringer section of your notebook. Draw a line separating the subject part of the sentence from the predicate. Hint: The predicate contains the verb! Review Bell Ringer 5 minutes

Class Business 10 Minutes
Discuss homework/classwork grading, rubrics, and policies. Distribute class folder numbers. Classroom location of make-up work and graded work. Reminders about course level changes and SMART Lunch.

VOCABULARY SPOTLIGHT 10 minutes
Use the examples to determine meaning of tier two vocabulary. Commencement is the culmination of four years of diligent work in the classroom. The other rabbits in the burrow thought that Peter was eccentric because he would only eat carrots steamed with green grapes and dill. Hint: Check the glossary in your textbook for definitions and examples of the literary terms. Review trifold assignment. Due Monday 2/13. Volvo’s “Wedding” Video 20 minutes
Write the following questions in the ”Notes & Handouts” section of your binder. Answer them as we watch the video link below. What story is being told? Why does Volvo want to tell us this story? Does this story achieve Volvo’s goal? Why?

Storytelling Entry Event 20 minutes
Materials Needed: Highlighter, pencil/pen, markers Wedding Video notes Wired Magazine’s “The Art of Immersion” Instructions: Create a mind map or concept map of your group’s conversation. What? Consider what types of stories are told. Why? Brainstorm the purposes for telling stories. How? Determine the methods for telling stories.
