Change to Academic Calendar 2018/19
We have changed a training day for next year’s calendar from Tuesday, 4th June to Monday, 3rd September which means the children will be returning to School on Tuesday, 4th September for the Autumn Term and Tuesday, 4th June 2019 for the Summer Term. Please find the new calendar on our website and copies at Reception. Thank you.
Mehndi Club
Thank you to everyone who has participated. It has been very popular and we will be hoping to run it again next year.

As some of you are aware Mrs Binner has not been in school recently due to illness. We all hope she makes a quick recovery and is back with us soon.

Due to health and wellbeing reasons, Mrs Akahoho has decided to leave our school at the end of May She has worked for a number of years at St Augustine’s CE (VA) J&I School and I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her contribution to our school and pupils and wish her the very best for the future.
Mrs Akahoho will miss working with class 4 and wishes them every success at St Augustine’s.
Class 4 will have Mr Murray as their teacher until the end of term.

Family Learning
Dear Parents.
Our Eid Decorations family learning session was extremely popular and enjoyed by all who attended. We hope to run this session again in the future.
Could I please remind all parents that if you are interested in taking part in our family learning sessions it is very important to complete the reply slip at the bottom of the flyers and return this to the school office.

Drop off and collection
Please can all parents ensure they stay with their children in the playground until the bell sounds for the start of school. And also note children need to be collected at 3.20pm.

UNIFORM
Our uniform shop is due to start after the half term break. This will run every Monday 3.30 until 4.30.
All parents will have the chance to try on and order uniform for the children in the correct sizes. An order form will be completed with you and must be paid for in advance. You will then be notified when your order has arrived at school to collect.
Please join us in welcoming our new Parent Governor Mr Mohammed Zahir. We look forward to working with him on future school projects.
Our governors will be available to speak to any parents on Monday 18th June from 8.40am please feel free to come and ask any questions or just have a general chat.

The Power of Reading
Reading is a really good way
that you can help your child’s
learning at home. Children who
read everyday, not only read well
and understand what they have
read, they can achieve and become
more confident in many other areas of the curriculum. Children who can read well are far more likely to achieve and do well later in life.
Families, please encourage your child to read home/school reading book each day and support this reading by commenting in their reading record..

We have now received a new delivery of school sweatshirts. These are from a new supplier and we are trialling a different blend of materials. These will be priced at £7.95 each for all sizes except Small Adult which is £8.95.

Thank you to everyone for helping and contributing to our fundraising events. We have almost reached the target for the new bouncy castle. We have a fantastic school spirit here at St Augustine’s!
Congratulations to all our Year 6 pupils who sat their exams last week. They put in a lot of hard work in preparation for these and had such a wonderful and positive attitude all week.
We are all very proud of you.
