A virus reproduces by attaching itself to a specific hist and injects its genetic material

One of the earliest documented HIV infections was found in a preserved blood sample in 1959 from a man named Leopoldville in Belgian Congo
It has believed to have originated in Africa

HIV is an STD (sexually transmitted disease)
It is spread through sexual intercourse and using some medical equipment, like sharing needles
It can also be transmitted from mother to child

The most common symptoms include flu-like symptoms, thrush (thick, white coating on your tongue or mouth), sore throat, and bad yeast infections
Also, feeling dizzy and lightheaded, fast weight loss, and easily bruising

10. How long can it take for HIV to develop into AIDS?
About fifty percent of people with HIV develop AIDS after ten years
It takes anywhere from months to years
