7 Uniform These pics show girl’s uniforms from around the world.
Boy in a Boy Scout uniform. “Class A” Scouts BSA girl uniforms will be similar with option for a skirt. “Class B” is a Scouting T-shirt. We’ll make one for our troop as soon as the girls decide on logo. Wear Class A to meetings and Court of Honor. Wear Class B for campouts and outings, meetings in the summer.

Adult guidance, advising and mentoring (SM and ASMs) Adult oversight and support (Committee et al.) Sponsoring Organization approval and support (SOR)

10 Advancement Work on skills until mastered Self paced
Record achievements in back of Scout Handbook Demonstrate skill and have ASM or SM sign off. Later, 1st class and above Scouts can sign off Once all skills & achievements for a rank are completed, schedule a Scoutmaster Conference Board of Review occurs after SM Conference Recognized at Award Ceremony w/ Potluck dinner (Court of Honor) 2/year: Month 1/ Month 2

14 Eagle Highest rank attainable. Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout Rank has been earned by more than 2 million young men. Now, young women can also attain this achievement. The title of "Eagle Scout" is held for life. Requirements: Merit badges Demonstrating Scout Spirit, service, and leadership Extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads, and manages

17 Youth Protection Training
All volunteers who work with youth must complete YPT every 2 years (print/keep hard copy of certificate) Online course at Some YPT Rules. They’re Common Sense: NEVER 1:1 adult:youth ALWAYS 2:1 or more ALWAYS female YPT trained adult leader at events with girls No phones/photography in private locations (tents, bathrooms, showers, etc) No initiation rites, private societies No bullying, or public/on-line shaming All registered leaders are mandatory reporters

20 Volunteering If you volunteer as an ASM, you get to spend quality time with your daughter, away from electronics & distractions If you volunteer in other critical roles (next slide) you help the Troop to Go and our daughters to Grow Scouting builds tomorrow’s leaders Scout Oath & Law are a strong ethical foundation Scouts learn it’s not “all about me” Scouts learn leadership skills not taught elsewhere Scouts learn about working in and co-existing with Nature Along the way, Scouts make good friends and have fun
