Instructor: Harley Baker Sponsored by Academic Affairs Assessment and the Office of Faculty Development Course meets biweekly on Fridays from 1 – 4 pm Location: To be Determined To enroll in this class, contact Harley Baker or Phil Hampton Information Session: 4:30 – 5 pm, Tuesday, February 16, Training Room, Administrative Building This course will provide faculty members (tenure-track and temporary), staff, and/ or administrators with an opportunity to learn about assessment and evaluation and implement their knowledge in an assessment/ evaluation project in a high-level, non-threatening atmosphere. Class capacity: 10 participants. Free textbook provided to all course participants compliments of the Office of Faculty Development

2 Why Enroll in the Assessment and Evaluation Course?
Tenure-track and temporary faculty will receive a letter from the Office of Faculty Development indicating their participation in the course for inclusion in their Working Personnel Action File Projects developed in the course may be used by faculty members as evidence of teaching, service or scholarship in the Retention, Tenure and Promotion process. The work may be suitable for publication in journals or for presentation at a conference. Free textbook on (Evaluation, 2nd Edition, by Carol Weiss: List price $46) Although not a specific goal of this course, the projects conducted may inform the WASC accreditation process or program assessment/ evaluation efforts.
