What is screening? Screening looks for early signs of disease or condition in people who do not have symptoms Finding a condition early gives you the best chance of early treatment and survival You may feel well even if you have early signs of a condition Taking part in screening is your choice

Cervical screening Aged 25 – 64 Breast screening Aged 50 – 70 + Men Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Men 65 or over Men & Women Bowel screening Aged Anyone with diabetes Diabetic eye screening – and over Mother and Baby Antenatal screening Newborn bloodspot Newborn hearing

Bowel Screening Who: Men and women aged 60 to 74 When: Every 2 years

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening
Who: Men aged 65 (over 65s if you ask) When: One-off test Test: Ultrasound

Diabetic Eye Screening
Who: Everyone over 12 years with diabetes When: Every year Test: Photographs of the eye

Antenatal Screening Who: All Women When: During Pregnancy Test: Blood Tests and Ultrasound

Newborn Bloodspot Screening
Who: All newborn babies When: 5 days after birth Test: Heel-prick test

Newborn Hearing Screening
Who: All newborn babies When: Within 2 weeks of birth Test: Hearing Test
