3 First-Person Point of View
The Narrator: is a main (or minor) character in the story refers to himself/herself as I or me presents his/her own thoughts and feelings does not have direct access to the thoughts and feelings of other characters Impact on the Reader: limited understanding of character and events the narrator can be unreliable the story seems real, as if the narrator is talking to you First-Person Point of View

The Narrator: is not a character in the story may be a voice that tells the story (not an identifiable person) is called omniscient if he or she knows the thoughts and feelings of all the characters is called limited if he or she focuses on the thoughts and feelings of one character Impact on the Reader: you learn more about characters and events you may not feel as connected to the story because it is told in a less personal way Third-Person Point of View

Physical Appearance: description of the character’s clothing, physical characteristics, body language, facial expressions, gestures, and mannerisms. Speech, Thoughts, and Actions: presentation of the character’s speech patterns, baits and tastes, talents and abilities, and interaction with others Other Characters: presentation of other characters’ reactions to the character, relationships with the character, impression of the character, and traits that contrast with the character’s traits Methods of Characterization
