The coaching staff appreciates everyone’s time and attendance. The overall purpose of this meeting is to communicate important dates, times, and programs currently being setup by the staff for the 2019 season.

Strength and Conditioning Program
The purpose of this program is to provide an alternate training environment for our players that works in cooperation with their club training. This program will focus on soccer specific strength and conditioning exercises that will support the overall player well being. These sessions will be overseen by SHS coaching staff. These sessions are NOT mandatory and only for those players who are looking for additional fitness work. 10 week program Begins February 4th Ends April 10th 2 Sessions per week Monday – 5:00 – 6:00 pm Wednesday – 5:00 – 6:00 pm 60 minute sessions 60 min – core /strength Sessions will be tracked Players will be partnered up Will monitor workouts in order track improvements Cost = $40.00 While the sessions are not mandatory, we do want players committed to the 10 wks. in order for those players to begin seeing results

GAC Fitness Sports Performance Center
The Springboro men’s soccer program will again use the GAC Fitness Sports Performance Center to support our Summer fitness training Training will begin June 4th and end July 26th June - Tuesday/Thursday/Friday – Seniors/Juniors – 1:00 – 2:15 PM June - Tuesday/Thursday/Friday – Sophomores/Freshman – 5:30 – 6:45 PM FRIDAY – 2:15 – 3:30 PM July - Tuesday/Thursday/Friday – Seniors & Juniors – 1:00 – 2:15 PM July - Monday/Wednesday/Friday – Sophomores & Freshman – 5:30 – 6:45 PM 75 minute sessions No more than a 8:1 athlete/trainer ratio 2 – 1 hour classroom sessions on nutrition & mindset Times and dates TBD Deadline to Register is May 1st Price is $200.00/player or $8.33/session $ – multi-family

Summer Open Fields Open fields will be conducted at Ralph Wade Field
In the event of a field conflict we may move over to Care Flight Field Sessions will run from June 3rd thru June 28th 3 Sessions per week Monday/ Wednesday/Friday 2 hour session 9:00 am– 11:00 am Players are required to bring FULL gear PUMPED up ball Cleats/Turf Shoes Shin Guards Plenty of Water Running Shoes

Summer Evening Fitness
Fitness sessions will be conducted at Ralph Wade Field Some sessions may be moved to Care Flight Field Sessions will run from June 3rd thru June 26th 2 Sessions per week Monday/Wednesday 60 minute session Time TBD Players are required to bring appropriate fitness gear Running Shoes Plenty of Water Towel PUMPED up ball Cleats/Turf Shoes

Sessions will run from July 1st thru July 24th 2 Sessions per week Monday / Wednesday – Seniors & Juniors Tuesday / Thursday – Sophomore & Freshman 90 minute sessions Seniors & 9:30 am – 11:00 am Mike and Matt Sophomores & 5:30 pm– 7:00 pm Tedd and Bryan Players are required to bring FULL gear PUMPED up ball Cleats/Turf Shoes Shin Guards Plenty of Water

Preseason Tournament Weekend of July 20th – July 21st
Games will be played at Voice of America Park Schedule and Rosters are TBD

Tryout Player Traits Technical ability Tactical understanding
Quality of dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting Tactical understanding Reading of the game, making adjustments, position roles Speed of Play Ability to process information and execute decisions quickly and effectively Player demeanor Attitude, body language Physical presence Size, strength, endurance Team needs Remember there is no exact science behind tryouts but the more you put into the process the better positioned you will be to achieve your goals.

Student Handbook Reminders
Athletic Eligibility Student athletes and parents/guardians must understand that it is a privilege to participate in athletics at Springboro Junior High and Springboro High School. In order to participate as a student-athlete, the student must satisfy grade requirements established by the Ohio High School Athletic Association and Springboro Community City Schools In order to be eligible in grades 9-12, a student must be currently enrolled and must have been enrolled in school the immediately preceding grading period. During the preceding grading period, the student must have received passing grades in a minimum of five (5) one-credit courses or the equivalent, each of which counts toward graduation. At Springboro High School, all classes EXCEPT for Physical Education classes are one-credit courses. In addition to passing 5 one-credit classes, the student must have earned an average of 67% or above in said grading period. Substance Abuse Policy Lifetime of Code This policy will be in effect beginning on the first day that a student enters 7th grade. There is NO “off-season” as far as adherence to the substance abuse policy is concerned. This policy is in effect “365 days a year/24 hours a day.”
