What is a portfolio? A meaningful collection of an artist’s work that highlights their skills & progress Why do artists use portfolios? To store & preserve artworks

How will you be using your portfolio?
To store & preserve your: Art Projects (KEEP ALL OF YOUR ART PROJECTS… YOU WILL NEED THEM) Sketchbook / Loose Sketches Notes & Handouts Anything else art related you work on in this class Where will you store your portfolio? In the grey drawers at the front of the room with YOUR CLASS LABEL

Directions: Creating a functional pocket style portfolio
Fold large heavyweight paper in half (hamburger style) like a folder Cut two strips of tape long enough to cover the short sides of the paper Place 1/2 the width of the duct tape along the short edge of the paper Fold the other 1/2 of the duct tape (backwards) to secure both pieces of paper Cut the excess duct tape that is longer than the portfolio Repeat on closed side to reinforce bottom

Directions: Requirements on the portfolio
Functional (folded & taped) First & last name + class period Text is large, bold, & clear Use your space (75%+ total) Add plenty of color Decorate it however you want! Make it more you! FIRST LAST 1(A/B)
