1 Pray or Else & You and Your Bible
Grace Apostolic Consecration 2019 Bishop Pendleton, Pastor

2 Giving Credit To the Source
The main content of this teaching from the Prayer Clinic Manual by Bishop Clifton Jones We are highlighting 2 Chapters from his book

3 Consecration Fasting Focus
Pursue Jesus: Fall in love and be consumed by His overwhelming presence.

4 Consecration Goals Renew and recommit to the total surrender to the Lordship of Jesus in every part of your life. To personally re-focus on sincerely pursuing Jesus, with the expectation that Jesus will answer and show up supernaturally in your life, family, job, and your areas of influence. To come together as a church with one accord with the anticipation and expectation to see the glory of Jesus in our services. We are looking for Jesus to show up.

5 Biblical Patterns That Produce Success
True repentance is required. True sacrifice is required. You have to show Jesus that you want Him. True praise and worship is required.

6 Pray or Else

7 “When we give prayer the proper place in our life, prayer will give us tenderness of heart and a sensitive spirit.”   “A sensitive spirit born out of prayer makes us aware of both good and evil. Anyone who is not prayerful will be blind to the seduction of the devil.”

8 Matthew 26: Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. “It is prayerlessness that produces men of greed, covetousness, and worldliness. It is prayerlessness that produces weak and carnal minded leaders.”

9 “Failing to pray causes our spirits to decline to the level of our flesh. Therefore, when a weak spirit and the flesh get together, the result is sin.” “True praying will deliver a man from sinning, and sinning will hinder a man from praying.”

10 “It would serve us well if we would remember that we are no greater for the Lord then we are great with Him. It is not up front that demonstrates how great we are with him, it is what we do behind closed doors that makes the difference.”

11 You and Your Bible

12 “The more of God’s word we get in us, the more of God’s awareness we will have in us. God and His word is one. It is impossible to over emphasize the necessity of possessing the Word and letting the Word possess us.”

13 Luke 10:38-42 38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

14 Luke 10:38-42 Cont. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But ONE THING IS NEEDFUL: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

15 “The Martha attitude says, “serve, and in doing so, we will express our love.” While Mary is saying, “get to know Him so that you can develop your love, and release Him in your service.” People with the Martha spirit are willing to do service for the Lord as long as they don’t have to spend time with the Lord.”

16 “We have things backwards
“We have things backwards. We put “serving him” in the place we should have “knowing him”. It is easier to serve him, after we get to know him; it is a fact that knowing him will keep us holy, while serving him only keeps us busy.”

17 Acts 6:4 - 4 But we will give ourselves CONTINUELY to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
“This is truly the apostolic way, prayer and the ministry of the word. We have it backward; we minister the word as a whole without prayer. If we return to the apostolic pattern, we will get apostolic results.”

18 Joshua 1:8 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. “The more we chew on the word and meditate on the word, the more it increases our faith. Bible loving, Bible believing people are faith people who will become Bible praying people.”

22 “It is important to note: praying will not stop trouble from rising, but it will surely keep you from falling.”

23 “The only way to get to know God’s word is by spending time in His word.”
“To live in agreement with God’s word, we must be faithful readers of God’s word.”
