7 General Information This plan provides personal choice, flexibility, & options! Students and parents required to select (in writing) an endorsement area and create a 4-Year Plan Opportunities to review and/or modify your plan will be available in high school Parent permission is required for Endorsement changes Schedule changes for the next school year must be made before the end of the current school year; schedules will not be adjusted during the school year. Students may earn more than one endorsement NOTE: Students must graduate with the Distinguished Level of Achievement in order to be eligible for top 10% automatic admission at any Texas public university and also to be considered for the TEXAS Grant.

Biomedical, and advanced math Business & Industry – Information Technology, database management, marketing, accounting, finance, graphic design, construction, welding, agriculture, hospitality & tourism (culinary arts) Public Service – Health Science occupations, education Arts and Humanities – Fine arts (Art, Dance, Music, & Theatre) Multidisciplinary – Provides students the opportunity to take a variety of courses from each of the other four endorsement areas

13 General Information about Levels
Regular-level: The curriculum, content, and state TEKS (learning objectives) for the course are completed at grade level. Pre-AP/AP = The curriculum and learning objectives are created by CollegeBoard, a national organization also responsible for the design of the SAT. Advanced Placement students have the potential to earn possible college credit by taking AP exam in the spring. This is a weighted class. DC = Dual Credit students earn both high school credit and college credit for specific high school courses; specific entry requirements must be met before enrolling in a dual credit course. Students are starting their college transcript. This is also a weighted class. Honors: Students may be classified as Honors students but not be dually enrolled with Angelo State for DC. These students do receive the weighted GPA point.

View guidance news bulletins Create a résumé Keep a planner View college visits and sign up Complete a college search Develop a prospective college list Gain access to local scholarships and scholarship search engines Maintain journal entries Complete school developed surveys Compare colleges Links to selected third party resources (i.e. College Board, Financial Aid, NCAA, Careers, College searches, etc.) Track deadlines & community service hours

In School Stay focused on academics Do not lighten your academic load for your junior year Meet with your school counselor during posted times as needed Stay involved in school activities Start developing a resume/portfolio Pay attention to announcements and s Standardized Testing Prepare for the PSAT College Exploration Explore colleges on the Web Visit colleges if you can Attend college fairs GET ACTIVE IN NAVIANCE! Personal Make sure content of social media is appropriate Create an appropriate address Talk to your parents/guardians about your future

Help your student understand the college search process Help students explore possibilities through college visits Be in the "back seat" - and not the driver - of the college search process Be aware of deadlines and fees due Encourage your student to prepare for the PSAT Help your student stay organized (Naviance Family Connection Planner) Celebrate successes! HELP YOUR STUDENT UTILIZE NAVIANCE!
