Current lab and classroom environment
Multiple user device environments currently supported with: Value Incentive Program (VIP) offers Device License Enterprise Term License Agreement (ETLA) offers serialized deployment Creative Cloud apps have been built and updated specifically for the multi-user environment Limitations of Device/Serialized Certain functionality not available without services No access to storage, requiring 3rd party services No access to Portfolio to showcase work No access to cloud-based apps License conflict when named-users attempt to use entitled devices No admin visibility into usage volumes
8
Key problems to solve User Experience Admin Experience
Admin has no visibility into usage of devices No ability to create groups of licenses to match distribution of devices on campus No ability to assign sub-admins to manage labs Limited functionality in key applications Educators cannot teach and students cannot use new apps No access to services reduces ability to learn new tools, showcase work, engage in learning, and demonstrate skills

Introducing Shared Device Licensing in early 2019 for all Education customers
Access to Cloud-based Apps Access to Services Simplified License Management

Common Questions
16
Common questions Q: Can we still buy for only the devices needed?
Yes. Shared Device License is purchased in exactly the same way as the current device license solution. Q: What if our renewal is in April 2019, will we be required to migrate at that time? No. You can still purchase/renew device licenses until your institution is ready to migrate. The self-service migration functionality will be available early 2019. Q: Can we purchase more device licenses after the release of Shared Device Licenses? Yes. If your institution has not migrated to Shared Device License, you can purchase additional units of device if needed. If you have migrated to Shared Device License, you can only purchase that license type.
17
Common questions Q: If we start migrating, can we go back to device?
No. Once your institution starts the migration process you will have 30 days to complete the migration before device licenses become inactive. You will need to be fully prepared to complete the migration before starting. Q: What is required of our institution to migrate? Migration involves the creation of new packages and redeployment to the machines to be provisioned. Q: Are files created in Creative Cloud 2019 compatible with Creative Cloud 2018? If students are creating files in Creative Cloud 2019 with their named-user access, these files can be saved in formats compatible with Creative Cloud 2018 in device-based environments.
