Reflexive vs. Non reflexive
Some verbs can have a reflexive and non reflexive form It is non reflexive if the action is being done to or for someone/something else EX: Yo lavo el coche (I wash the car) Me lavo las manos (I wash my hands)

Non-Reflexive: Reflexive:

Reflexive verbs When you use reflexive verbs with BODY PARTS or CLOTHING Use the definite article (not the possessive adjective) Ex: ¿Te pintas las uñas? Do you paint your nails? Felipe se pone los zapatos Felipe puts on his shoes
10
Position The reflexive pronoun can be in front of the conjugated verb or attached to an infinitive Ex: Me voy a duchar. Voy a ducharme. (the pronoun stills needs to reflect who is receiving the action)

Verbs and Prepositions
If a verb immediately follows a preposition, it must be left in its infinitive form (even if it’s not in English) Ex: Me lavo la cara antes de acostarme. I wash my face before I go to bed. Common prepositions: Por, para, de, antes de, despues de
