19 Four Types of Local Churches
1) Scripturally Organized 2) Scripturally UnOrganized 3) UnScripturally Organized 4) UnScripturally UnOrganized

20 Four Types of Local Churches
1) Scripturally Organized 2) Scripturally UnOrganized 3) UnScripturally Organized 4) UnScripturally UnOrganized Approved Unapproved

21 Scripturally Organized
Elders/Pastors overseeing the church Acts 20:28, 1 Peter 5:1-3 Shepherd the church A plurality of qualified servants Ac 20:28 "Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 1Pe 5:1 ¶ Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed, 2 shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock

22 Scripturally Organized
Elders/Pastors overseeing the church Deacons serving the church 1 Timothy 3:8-13, Acts 6:1-3 Bringing peace to the congregation Making sure none are overlooked A plurality of qualified servants 1Ti 3:8 ¶ Deacons likewise must be men of dignity, not double-tongued, or addicted to much wine or fond of sordid gain, 9 but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 These men must also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons if they are beyond reproach. 11 Women must likewise be dignified, not malicious gossips, but temperate, faithful in all things. 12 Deacons must be husbands of only one wife, and good managers of their children and their own households.13 For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a high standing and great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus. Ac 6:1 ¶ Now at this time while the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint arose on the part of the Hellenistic Jews against the native Hebrews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily serving of food. Ac 2:41; 4:4,35; 5:14; 6:7; 9:29; 11:20 2 So the twelve summoned the congregation of the disciples and said, "It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables. 3 "Therefore, brethren, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this task.

23 Scripturally Organized
Elders/Pastors overseeing the church Deacons serving the church Evangelists preaching to the church 2 Timothy 4:2-5, 2 Timothy 2:22-26 Feeding the congregation Equipping the saints for service 2Ti 4:2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 5 But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

24 Scripturally Organized
Elders/Pastors overseeing the church Deacons serving the church Evangelists preaching to the church Teachers instructing others Acts 13:1, Hebrews 5:12 Growing the knowledge of the Bible Ac 13:1 ¶ Now there were at Antioch, in the church that was there, prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

25 Scripturally Unorganized
A church WITHOUT qualified servants - Doing the work of the church - Understood to be inadequate A church WORKING on getting servants - Getting elders, deacons, preachers, etc. - A primary focus of the church

26 Unscripturally Organized
A church WITHOUT qualified servants - Men not qualified for their service A church with UNAUTHORIZED servants - The clergy system A church content not to build more servants

27 Unscripturally Unorganized
A church WITHOUT servants - But with qualified members A church ruled by: - Voting or majority rule A church not pursuing organization - Not seeking elders, deacons, preachers

28 Our Great Blessings Very few bodies are scripturally organized - Some lack qualified members Many are unscriptural - They have stagnated not to work - They have unqualified servants Ps 106:32 They also provoked Him to wrath at the waters of Meribah, So that it went hard with Moses on their account;

29 Our Great Blessings We need to see: It is a short step to scripturally unorganized What should our mindset be? 1. CONSTANTLY working to make servants 2. CONSTANTLY working to keep servants Ps 106:32 They also provoked Him to wrath at the waters of Meribah, So that it went hard with Moses on their account;
