Confession of Faith: Nicene Creed
11
Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of his Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God,
12
who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven,
begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by whom all things were made; who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
13
he suffered and was buried;
and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father; and he shall come again, with glory, to judge both the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
14
And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets; and we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church;
15
and we acknowledge one baptism
for the remission of sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Lord, Speak to Me That I May Speak
Hymn 560: Lord, Speak to Me That I May Speak How Good It Is to Thank the Lord
19
Lord, speak to me that I may speak in living echoes of your tone; as you have sought, so let me seek your erring children lost and lone. O use me, Lord, use even me, just as you will and when and where; until your bless-ed face I see, your rest, your joy, your glory share.
20
O teach me, Lord, that I may teach the precious things you do impart; and wing my words, that they may reach the hidden depths of many a heart. O use me, Lord, use even me, just as you will and when and where; until your bless-ed face I see, your rest, your joy, your glory share.
21
O fill me with your fullness, Lord, until my very heart o'erflow in kindling thought and glowing word your love to tell, your praise to show. O use me, Lord, use even me, just as you will and when and where; until your bless-ed face I see, your rest, your joy, your glory share.

1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 (ESV)
Scripture Reading: 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 (ESV)
23
For you yourselves know, brothers, that our coming to you was not in vain. 2 But though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict. 3 For our appeal does not spring from error or impurity or any attempt to deceive,
24
4 but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts. 5 For we never came with words of flattery, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed—God is witness. 6 Nor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others, though we could have made demands as apostles of Christ.
25
7 But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children. 8 So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.
26
holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers.
9 For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. 10 You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers.
27
11 For you know how, like a father with his children, 12 we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.

O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing
Hymn 164: (Deacon’s Offering) O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing
32
O for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemer's praise, the glories of my God and King, the triumphs of his grace. My gracious Master and my God, assist me to proclaim, to spread through all the earth abroad the honors of thy name. Jesus, the name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows cease; 'tis music in the sinner's ears, 'tis life and health and peace.
33
He breaks the power of reigning sin, he sets the prisoner free; his blood can make the foulest clean, his blood availed for me. He speaks and, listening to his voice, new life the dead receive; the mournful, broken hearts rejoice; the humble poor believe. Hear him, ye deaf; his praise, ye dumb, your loosened tongues employ; ye blind, behold your Savior come; and leap, ye lame, for joy.
34
Benediction
35
Christ, to thee, with God the Father, and, O Holy Ghost to thee, hymn, and chant, and high thanksgiving, and unwearied praises be, honor, glory, and dominion, and eternal victory, evermore and evermore!
