Mission & Vision Statement First Baptist Church is a body of believers determined to do whatever it takes to answer God’s call to make disciples of all nations. Our intent is to raise up ever-growing followers of Jesus Christ, who, through authentic worship, selfless service, and bold proclamation, will bring the truth of the gospel first to our community but also to our state, our nation, and our world. Matthew 28:16-20, Acts 1:8, Matthew 13:45-46

Core Values

#ForCameronTX First Baptist Church feels God has placed us in this time and in this place to reach our community for Christ. Therefore, our time, energy, and resources will reflect an emphasis on local ministry. We encourage our church family to use this hashtag on social media as you go about serving the community. Acts 2:44-47
5
Prayer Is Power None of us is able to live the life that God has called us to without relying on the power of God. Therefore, we are committed to petitioning God through prayer to leverage His power for His purposes. Ephesians 6:18
6
Honor The Past, Embrace The Present, Build The Future We believe each generation is called to reach the next generation for Christ and to teach them the truth and ways of Jesus. This constant progression is necessary for the advancement of the gospel. Lamentations 5:19
7
Mission Is Eternal, Methods Are Temporary Culture changes but the gospel and the commission of Jesus for each believer to make disciples never will. With that in mind we must constantly reevaluate the tools and programs we use to reach our community to assure that we are as effective as we possibly can be. 1 Corinthians 9:19-23
8
Family Focus We believe the greatest impact we can have on the world will be by reaching and equipping the next generation of leaders. To that end, we are intent on reaching whole family units for Christ. Specifically, we believe that if the head of the household places faith in Jesus the likelihood that the rest of the family will follow is greatly increased. All for the glory of God. Acts 16:31

Love Is Action Jesus told us to love our neighbors
Love Is Action Jesus told us to love our neighbors. Every biblical example of love is illustrated not by words or emotion but by action. Therefore, as we reach our community we will prove our love through our actions. We will evaluate each situation with the question, “What does love require of me?”. We will choose to love. John 13:34
10
Ministry Is Messy Following the call of Jesus to love our neighbors as ourselves will place us in some very uncomfortable situations. We will embrace the messiness of ministry to bless the recipient, to edify ourselves, and to glorify our God. Matthew 25:40
11
We > Me (we is greater than me) Scripture describes the church as a body made of many parts. Every believer has a role in the body based on the gifts granted by the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Therefore, there is no room for selfishness or individualism within the church. Instead we choose unity and selflessness. Philippians 2:3-4
12
Worship In Spirit And In Truth Authentic worship encompasses the entirety of our person. Our spirit is invoked through our emotions and our passions. Truth in turn appeals to our understanding, our logic and our intellect. God purposed us to worship Him through all of these equally. Therefore, we worship through music, teaching, learning, obeying, giving, encouraging, and repenting to name just a few. John 4:24
13
Giving Leads To Receiving Throughout scripture we are commanded to give financially and of our gifts and talents. This is not because God needs us or our money but rather it is an act of worshipful submission to our Provider. Scripture also promises that God will bless those who trust Him with their gifts. We believe greater submission leads to greater blessings. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8
