Length Equipment: Rulers and meter sticks
Tip: You can have one decimal beyond what you are certain of.

Mass Equipment: Triple Beam Balance, Spring Scale
Tip: Add together all three “riders”

Time Equipment: Stopwatch Tip: Round to hundreth (2 decimal places)
Tip: Remember SECONDS

Temperature Equipment: Thermometer
Tip: Watch for negative and positive Tip: Be aware of the intervals!

Solid Volume Equipment: Meter stick, Graduated Cylinder
Tip: 1 mL = 1 cm3 Tip: V = Length x Width x Height

Liquid Volume Equipment: Graduated Cylinder or Beaker
Tip: Bottom of Meniscus Tip: INTERVALS!

ACCURACY Means your measurement is close to the perfect or actual value

PRECISION Means all values are close to each other but not necessarily close to the actual or perfect value
