Topic Question: What was life like in the colonies for different groups of people before and during the revolution? Description of Summative Performance Task: The students will be divided into groups of 4. Each group will be responsible for creating a PowerPoint explaining how life was different for different groups of people. Steps: In your assigned groups of four, create a PowerPoint on how life was like for Group 1- African Americans, Group 2. Patriots, Group 3 –Loyalists, Group 4 – Kids/teenagers. Use information your gather from different websites. Each group will turn in all information collected for the power point. Include 3 questions at the end of the PowerPoint pertaining to the information they have collected. Save the PowerPoint to the usb drive. The groups will present each power point to the class. The class will answer the question from the power point. Description of Summative Performance Task: After presenting your power point to the class, you will hand in your PowerPoint for other classes to watch and comment. You will also watch other groups PowerPoint and give feedback. Steps: Open a PowerPoint from another class. After you have completed the other classes PowerPoint, create a slide and comment on their work. When done, groups will rotate USB drives to view and comment on all groups presentations. USB drives will be given back to original groups to view comments.
