4. Choosing your classes….
Today you will learn about all of the 8th grade electives that are being offered.
Some elective classes require applications. You can request an application at the
end of presentation.
All electives will be year long electives except one which will be a semester
elective.
You will just be choosing your electives. You will automatically be placed in
your core classes, based off your current core classes.
You can view today’s PowerPoint and video on Google Classroom – HJHS
Counseling or the HJHS Counseling website.
Your registration needs to be completed even if you think you are not attending HJHS next year!

6. Choosing your classes
Again, you will only be choosing your elective classes. Your core classes will be entered for you.
Some classes require applications that need to be completed and turned in.

Pay careful attention to the due dates on the application and who you turn them in to.

You must enter 3 ALTERNATE Elective courses.
Students are not guaranteed elective choices. However, we will make
every effort to give students their REQUESTED choices.
Elective classes are year long. Except for one.
Pay attention to PREREQUISITES. Ex. Spanish 1, Industrial Tech. 1
There will be NO elective changes in the fall!!

Courses that require an application are not on Infinite Campus. You must be accepted. Once you are accepted, you will be put in the class. You choose them on your card.

You must turn in a Course Summary printout signed by your parent/guardian.
Course Summary printouts are due to your English teacher by February 13th
You do not need to turn in the Course Selection Form. This is strictly a guide to see the electives being offered.
You will only be inputting your electives into Infinite Campus. Your core classes will be entered for you.
Infinite Campus Portal will be closing on February 9th.
If you want an elective that requires an application, you will NOT be able to input that class into I.C. You must complete the application and turn it in. If you are chosen for that class you will automatically be placed in it.
