1 Create a Biography of your Character
Developing Your Hero & Heroine (N.B. do not try to answer all of these questions in your story.)

2 Directions On your computers, open your Google Doc.
Answer the following questions to develop your protagonist (or antagonist). Place the answers after your story but before your images. Choose at least three questions per slide. from each slide to answer. Answer each question fully with specific details. Use complete sentences.

3 Basic Background Knowledge (Pick 3)
What is your character’s full name? What is his/her astrological sign? Does it matter to her? What is his/her education, if any? Describe what (s)he is like in class. What are his/her hobbies? What is his/her job? How does (s)he feel about work? Is this a long-term career or just a job?

4 Character’s Physical/Psychological Characteristics (Pick 3)
What does (s)he look like? What are his/her most likeable and unlikeable traits? What is your character’s age or birth date? Is it significant? What trait does (s)he want to keep secret from the world? Is (s)he introverted or extroverted? What makes him/her so? Is (s)he a natural leader or a follower?

5 Dynamics of Character’s Family/Friends (Pick 3)
What are his/her parents like? Does (s)he have any brothers or sisters? Explain Does (s)he have children? If so, what are they like? How important are his/her family relationships? Who is his/her best friend? Why? Who is his/her worst enemy? Why? Who is this person’s love interest? How would a former date describe him/her?

6 Character’s Setting (Pick 3)
Where does (s)he live? (Urban? Small town? Rural?) Describe it. Why does (s)he choose (or have to) to live there? Does (s)he live in an apartment? A house? Describe the place. What type or style? Did she choose the residence, and why? Does (s)he live by herself? With others? If so, who? What’s the weather like in that setting? What are the features of the place? What object(s) is/are important to your protagonist? Describe them.

7 Philosophical Questions the Character Should Consider (Pick 3)
What does (s)he want to be doing in twenty years? What is his/her ideal happy ending? What does (s)he (dis)like most about his/her life? What would this character die to defend? What does (s)he believe in? Explain. What are her values? Why are they important to her?

8 Issues and Controversies (Pick 3)
As the story begins, what is his/her main problem? What does (s)he do to make the problem worse? What reaction do you want readers to have toward his/her? Why should the reader care about her?

9 Answer this Question: What is his/her flaw
Answer this Question: What is his/her flaw? (S)he has to have at least one flaw.
