5 1. Choose an Image to Engrave
Characteristics of a Good Engraving: High contrast High resolution (300 x 300 pixels or better) Should look good in B&W Minimize shaded regions with no information content Everything that has color will be engraved. Engraving takes a lot of time!!! Choose your images to minimize time as best you can… Excellent – Very strong contrast; good resolution; already in B&W; all dark areas carry information Good – Very strong contrast; high resolution; in B&W; large shaded region with minimal information content Poor – Contrast is only between light & dark colors; good resolution; too much informational content 500x518 px 1080x546 px 1200x1011px
