How to extend questions Relatively large amount of text to find the answer – not overly guided (e.g. Pages 4-5 not a specific page or paragraph section) Requiring children to read back to find the answer – before the key words Answers crossing pages. Answer on the next page to the key word Answers requiring inference as well as the main skill e.g. retrieval q - the cat was ‘too shiny. Too chubby.’ What conclusion does Gaby draw from this?
