2 Overview Family Proud provides hospitalized patients and their families easy and secure access to all their essential social, medical, and logistical resources. We use technology to bring agency to the lives of patients by delivering a world-class web experience.

3 Core Capabilities Our core capabilities include: Direct Messaging
Calendar Sharing Individual patient profiles Social Wall Peer-to-Peer Locator Push notifications

4 Personas

5 Persona #1: April Ludgate
Age: 25 Gender: Female Location: Pawnee, Indiana Educational Level: College Graduate Potential Income: ~$80k per year

6 Persona #1: April Ludgate (cont’d)
Technical Lifestyle: As is common among millennials, April is extremely tech savvy. She uses the latest iPhone X and her OS of choice is MacOS. She hates the Safari browser that came with her Macbook Air, so she uses Chrome. User Scenario: April has a loved one who is being treated at the Keck Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. Even though she cannot be there in person for her loved one, she wants an easy way to support them and to get updates on their status.

7 Persona #2: Ron Swanson Age: 60 Gender: Male Location: Pawnee, Indiana
Educational Level: College Graduate Potential Income: ~$60k per year

8 Persona #2: Ron Swanson (cont’d)
Technical Lifestyle: Ron has a computer that runs Windows 10 for his government job at the Parks and Rec department. His browser of choice is the default Microsoft Edge. Otherwise, he is not a believer in technology. He only uses a flip phone when he needs to call people. User Scenario: Ron is being treated at a hospital for leukemia. His loved ones want an easy way to keep updated on how he’s doing during treatment. They suggested that he post updates on his Facebook, but Ron wants a much more private way to share his status and express his needs for help (since he doesn’t want the government to track him).

9 Prototype Demonstration
Demo Slides: Why? What technologies was used? What can it do now? What we will add/improve moving forward

10 Direct Messaging Value-Add:
Direct Messaging is one among the top priority feature. Technologies: React Firebase Realtime Database / Query Current Functionality: Displays chat window with ability to exchange text messages in realtime Future Direction: Improve UI/UX Adding friends Disable chat for specific users Display list of online users Video Call feature Group chat

11 Peer-to-Peer Locator Value-Add:
Personnel shortfall due to lack of experience with the involved technologies. Technologies: Google Maps API Firebase Realtime Database / Query Current Functionality: Locate other user-patients with the same health condition When clicking on the marker, it displays the person’s information Future Direction: UI/UX Improvements Filtering which users will appear on the map (e.g. age, distance, etc.) Clicking on marker will open an info window with a link to connect and DM the other user Allow searching for nearby patients from a location that isn’t the user’s current location Display users based on last known current location Expand the locator to include support group users Because of the future direction’s technical complexity, the team opted to prototype this to ensure enough time is given for complete development.

12 Calendar Value-Add: High priority feature that promotes support network visits. Promotes transparency between the patient’s in-care life with their support network. Technologies: React Big-Calendar API Firebase Realtime Database / Query Current Functionality: Adding and deleting events Sharing patient calendar to connected users Future Direction: Editing events UI/UX improvements Allow users to sign up for shared events Adding regular events Canceling calendar sharing Sharing events based on label
