6. How are you placed in your classes for 9th grade?
Counselors create schedules based on junior high TEACHER recommendations/State Testing results FOR CORE CLASS PLACEMENT
Counselors meet with 8th grade class to select elective or possible program/academy consideration

9. Grading The school year is divided into two semesters:
Students receive two progress reports, at 6-week intervals, each semester.
Students receive final grades at the end of each semester.
GPA starts to be calculated in 9th grade:
Cumulative GPA is calculated at the end of each semester.
Students generally take 6 classes each year:
Each class is worth 5 credits per semester, so students can earn 30 credits per semester.

AVID elective provides students with guidance and instruction to prepare them for eligibility into a four-year institution. StudentS interested in the AVID program need to apply and interview .
