3. This quote shows that Marco thinks only about his family as he has just arrived and it is the first thing in his mind he wants to send the money “right away”

4. The chair raised like a weapon over his head (stage direction) p42

5. This stage direction demonstrates the strength of the bond between the two brothers Marco and Rodolpho. The word weapon has strong connotations of aggressiveness and threat. He is warning Eddie of what could be if Eddie does not change.

6. “All the law is not in a book”

7. When Alfieri advises Marco not to kill Eddie as it is against the law Marco talks of other laws. The strong Italian values of family and loyalty. It shows the more emotional and passionate side to the normally quite, hard working Marco.
