1. PRI is led by a Board of Directors whose constituents are representatives from the global aerospace industry. The representation is roughly proportionate with the percentage of Nadcap audits done in those regions.

According to Nadcap Operating Procedure 001 “Nadcap Subscriber Prime members are those aerospace or defense contractor prime companies who are Nadcap Subscribers and Production and Design Approval holders (such as Technical Standard Order [TSO], Type Certificate [TC], Production Certificate [PC] holders) from regulatory agency approval. These Subscriber Members have the design authority to write their own special process specifications and have internal engineering organizations to provide technical directions and support.”
There are also Nadcap members from Government activities (“a government activity is defined as a government office or function at one location or facility. Only one vote per function and facility shall be granted.”)

3. As this timeline shows, Nadcap began in 1990 with US aerospace prime contractors as subscribers. Within 5 years, European companies were signing up and in 2012, the first Asian subscriber – COMAC in China – became a member.
Today, practically every major global player, is involved in Nadcap.
