3 Promoting Family Earthquake Preparedness (D.O. #27 s. 2015)

4 Family Earthquake Preparedness
As part of the overall preparedness plan, all elementary and secondary schools must conduct the following activities: All learners shall be required to accomplish the family earthquake preparedness homework (Enclosure No. 1 (Filipino) or Enclosure No. 3 (English) for K to Grade 2 and SPED; Enclosure No. 2 (Filipino) or Enclosure No. 4 (English) for Grade 3 to Grade 10 with their families and submit it to their respective class advisers; All class advisers shall discuss each of the questions with the students along with their family’s responses to the homework using the guidance notes (Enclosure No. 5) during the homeroom sessions;

5 Family Earthquake Preparedness
As part of the overall preparedness plan, all elementary and secondary schools must conduct the following activities: 3. All class advisers shall tabulate and summarize the answers on the family earthquake preparedness assessment questions and submit it to the school administration; and 4. All school heads shall present and discuss the results to the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) and barangay officials for consideration in the school and community preparedness planning.

The Guidelines support DepEd Order No. 55, s (Prioritizing the Mainstreaming of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in the School System and Implementation of Programs and Projects Relative Therefor) and DepEd Order No. 21, s (Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Coordination and Information Management Protocol), which seek to engage different education stakeholders, especially learners and their families on disaster prevention and preparedness.

Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 27 s “PROMOTING FAMILY EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS”, all school heads shall send the date of completion report at the DepEd DRRMO via SMS through and , please send a copy of your SMS to the division office through ;

9 The format of the report should be:
<School ID>,<Date of Completion (DD,MM,YYYY)>,<Name of sender>, <Position> Example: 123456,11,09,2015,Juan Dela Cruz,Principal I

10 Reminders Proper delimiters should be observed. Please do not use other characters other than letters, numbers and commas. Strictly follow the format. Report without School ID will be automatically DELETED from the system. DepEd DRRMO DOES NOT need details of the report yet and they just need to know the progress of the date of completion. 11 Reminder All class advisers shall tabulate and summarize the answers on the family earthquake preparedness assessment questions and submit it to the school DRRM Coordinator for school consolidation. The district will then consolidate the school reports and submit it to the Division Office thru using the address
