2. Post-Impressionism follows Impressionism
Post-Impressionism is characterized by bright colours and sharp, often outlined edges.
Post-Impressionism reveals a freely expressive use of colours and forms used to describe emotions or movement.
In pursuit of individual goals, theories and interests, they didn't work or exhibit together.
These painters never had a style in common but they were the heirs of the innovations of Impressionism.

Pointillism is a form of painting in which tiny dots of primary- colours are used to generate secondary colours.
Sometimes it is called Divisionism.
Pointillism is more focused on the specific style of brushwork used to apply the paint.

5. PAUL CÉZANNE POST-IMPRESSIONISM
His still life works are very famous which use a very modern composition that breaks the rules of perspective, the portraits are painted in a singular approach to volumes and landscapes , where the influence of Impressionism is clearly visible in the pale colours and in the thickness of the brushstrokes.
HENRI DE TOULOUSSE LAUTREC
POST-IMPRESSIONISM
Lautrec uses a pastel technique and outlines his drawings in soft colours. His fast and almost sketched drawings show us a tender interpretation of women and especially of late night Paris.

6. POST-IMPRESSIONISM VINCENT VAN GOGH PAUL GAUGUIN
After several trips to Tahiti, Gauguin explored new ways of using colour and lines. His bright colours, mainly yellow, are related to the Fauvism movement.
The line is vigorous and it seems to close the figures. Gauguin sometimes doesn’t paint reality, but instead prefers to imagine.
