2. Supporting the translation of Russian literature into world languages
Since 2012, the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communication (Rospechat’) and the Institute for Literary Translation have been supporting the translation of Russian works into world languages.
Over 6 years, the Institute has allotted more than 900 grants for translations into more than 50 foreign languages.

importance and relevance of the translation into the proposed language;
creative merit, uniqueness and originality of the literary work;
recognition by Russian national literary awards (e.g. Bolshaya Kniga/Big Book, Russian Booker, Yasnaya Polyana, and others) and international literary awards;
new translations of Russian classical works

5. Forms of support full reimbursement of translation costs

6. Applications are accepted annually on a rolling basis between October 1 and January 31;
Applications are reviewed by the Institute for Literary Translation’s Expert Council and approved by Rospechat’s Expert Commission between February 1 and May 1;
The approved book should be published within two years.

If the grant proposal is approved, the Institute for Translation concludes an agreement with the grantee. The funds to cover the translation are transferred to the grantee’s bank account
