5. Tragedy of the Commons
Definition: the depletion, degradation, or overexploitation of a resource or area that is not owned by anyone and therefore owned by everyone.
In other words - self interest and competition ruin shared resources.

6. What is sustainability?
Living within the means of nature…on the “interest” of the resource.
Using a resource at a rate which will not reduce the amount of that resource in the future.
How much of a resource can sustainably be used in a year?
Is it possible for non-renewable resources to be used sustainably?

7. What is Sustainable Development?
Using a resource that will satisfy the current needs without reducing the amount of that resource for the future generations.
