The course provides an overview on the psychosocial dimensions of behavioral health, with a special focus on developing countries and Bangladesh in particular.

Overall Learning Objectives Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
Describe the concept of Psychosocial Health and it’s Components and characteristic.
Define selected major behavioral health disorders
Describe the role of social and psychosocial factors in health disorder
Delineate prominent theories of psychosocial health
Develop an understanding on the significance of adopting psychosocial dimension in public health interventions
Describe the contemporary ethical issues on psychosocial health interventions for the vulnerable groups, e.g, women, adolescent, aging people, transgender and disaster affected people etc
Describe the potential public health strategies and approaches concentrating psychosocial health
Describe the education strategies to reduce the psychosocial stigma

Epidemiology of the major classes of behavioral health problems
