Course Rational The course provides an overview on the psychosocial dimensions of behavioral health, with a special focus on developing countries and Bangladesh in particular.

Overall Learning Objectives Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to: Describe the concept of Psychosocial Health and it’s Components and characteristic. Define selected major behavioral health disorders Describe the role of social and psychosocial factors in health disorder Delineate prominent theories of psychosocial health Develop an understanding on the significance of adopting psychosocial dimension in public health interventions Describe the contemporary ethical issues on psychosocial health interventions for the vulnerable groups, e.g, women, adolescent, aging people, transgender and disaster affected people etc Describe the potential public health strategies and approaches concentrating psychosocial health Describe the education strategies to reduce the psychosocial stigma Explore how culture and context are linked in human’s psychosocial wellbeing Describe and critique psychosocial community health programs in Bangladesh and the region

Topic: What Is Psychosocial Health? - Delineation, Components and characteristic Learning outcome After the session student can define ‘what is psychosocial health At the end of the session students will describe the components of Psychosocial Health After the session student can articulate the basic traits of psychosocial health. At the end of this session students will develop an understanding on the significance of adopting psychosocial dimension in public health interventions.

Session- 4 Psychosocial dimension in health and association in Public Health and History of psychosocial health At the end of this session students will develop an understanding on the significance of adopting psychosocial dimension in public health interventions

Session- 5, 6 and 7 Epidemiology of the major classes of behavioral health problems At the end of this lesson students will possess an clear understanding on selected major behavioral health disorders Session- 6 is QUIZ 1, Written test

At the end of the session students can delineate prominent theories of psychosocial health They will also able to relate the theories with real life examples from their surroundings

They will able to describe the challenges and solutions related to ethical issues in psychosocial health intervention
