Ignorance By: Mia, Alessandra, Sebastian, and Jonathan

What is ignorance? Ignorance is the lack of knowledge or information. In today’s society ignorance is a big deal, with everyone claiming they know everything without taking the time to look into the story behind it.

Biological Ignorance can be expressed throughout memories and experiences, such as seeing people you don't like, or having a bad relationship with them. It could interact with your brain and not want to agree with the person at all. We all grow up thinking a certain way; with the concept of ignorance we train ourselves to look at what we are told and what we see rather than digging into what something is truly about. Teens these days are very ignorant because the frontal lobe part of the brain isn't fully developed causing them to make jump into conclusions or making decisions that aren't correct.

Evolutionary As time flies, it seems as if ignorance has increased as humans developed along with the expansion of our society and with new technology allowing the world to be exposed to information that may or may not be true. Our ancestors weren’t as ignorant as us today because they used experience to get through life, rather than today’s society we go based off what we see instead of going out to experience it ourselves.

Psychodynamic Someone could feel as if they are not themself which results in doing things that isn't right and considered “not normal.” They would think something else during this state of mind and that represents ignorance.

Behavioral Ignorance can be triggered from the behavior that you have, such as having a bad attitude or just going off on others. People would acknowledge this and suggest for that person to calm down and tell you to do something, like a hobby you enjoy, to see if there is a way the behavior could be resolved and/or be released.

Cognitive The process of how we get information or something that needs to be done and is the right thing. It would be taken somewhere else when you know the right choice is what needs to be done. Emotions can be connected with ignorance also, whether you're having a bad day, or someone has influenced your day in a negative way. Choices you make can lead to it, if someone wants to help you but you deny even though it helps alot.

Humanistic How we choose to achieve our self-fulfilment, a way this could be arranged is you can be influenced by the way we grow up viewing things. Such as someone you love or a family member, deciding what's the best thing to do for them but you would somewhat often change things that are needed and should not be included that can affect the situation. Choices that are made can also be humanistic that depends on the mind of one.

Social-cultural Before, people would take the time to look into the details of a certain situation. They would piece things together and get the full idea. Now, they just assume instead of going in depth of what is happening. Some, depending on whether or not the situation is based on cultural it can trigger ignorance through the brain. For example, other countries take school seriously and it is their top priority. And here, any celebrities don't focus a lot when they were in school; they tend to slack off and think that’s alright, and most of us here take that as an inspiration as if they would want to do it as well.

Solution The solution to ignorance would be to stop jumping to conclusions, not to rely on what we think is most beneficial to us because we tend to come up with unreasonable reasons/evidence that can’t support a certain topic. Keep an open mind!!!
